What is ArchCare Community Life?

This is a long term Medicaid plan designed specifically for the needs of seniors like you — which includes someone to watch over your care. With Community Life, you’ll be able to live comfortably at home, knowing you’ll get the kind of coverage and care you need.

Truly caring Care Managers.

Nothing is more important to us than your health and quality of life. That’s why, when you sign up for Community Life, we give you a dedicated Care Manager who’ll get to know you and handle many of your day-to-day health needs.

Besides doing regular check-ins with you by phone, your dedicated Care Manager will:

  • Work closely with all of your doctors and care givers
  • Arrange & coordinate your care
  • Help set up your appointments
  • Keep track of your medications
  • Guide you & your family to the best quality health care options available

With the help of your Care Manager, you’ll get the things you need to help keep you healthy and happy in the comfort of your own home.

You’ll also be covered for things like transportation to doctors’ appointments, meals, and nutritional counseling.

*Please note that members with Medicare will continue to be covered by Medicare for these services.

Depending on your eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid, Community Life may be available at no cost to you.

  • If you are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid and do not have a spend-down,* there is no cost to you for Community-Life covered services.
  • If you are eligible for Medicaid only and do not have a spend-down,* there is no cost to you for Community-Life covered services.
  • If you live in the New York City service area, your spend-down is determined by the New York City Human Resource Administration. (HRA).
  • If you live in Westchester or Putnam County, your spend-down is determined by the Local Department of Social Services (LDSS).

*Spend-down, which is also known as surplus, is the difference between your monthly income and the monthly Medicaid rate.

Also, there is no additional cost to you for authorized covered services in the Community Life provider network. However, if you choose to access services on your own that are not covered or obtain services of a nonparticipating provider that are not authorized by Community Life, you may be subject to payment for those services.

Membership in ArchCare Community Life (MLTCP) will not affect coverage for your important Medicare or Medicaid medical benefits, including: ambulance, doctor visits, emergency room care, hospitalizations and prescription drug coverage.
